| Note | This magnificent GIANT is only a few millimetres under the current official World Record Size 118.7 mm. Ultra-clean for the species, with virtually no substrate discoloration. Beautiful creamy apricot. Exquisite, evenly developed external surface sculpture. Now difficult to obtain, especially at this enormous size. An extremely impressive specimen for the Buccinidae specialist, or dedicated collector of giant-sized shells. Data: Off Nha-Trang, Khánh Hòa, Vietnam; upon mud/sand/rubble substrate; 200-300 m; trawled; 2014. Size: 114.4 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
