| Note | The FINEST pulchra of the JES Collection, this EXCEPTIONAL large specimen exhibits beautiful pastel PINK at the margins. Dark espresso maculations flanking terminals. Thick, resplendent gloss, as fresh now as when collected. Extremely solid and heavy for size. Pronounced ventral callosity in thick, glass-like pink. As this species now comes almost exclusively from old collections, it is exceedingly difficult to obtain such a well-curated specimen of such colour and quality. Data: Red Sea, off Erwa, Dahlak Archipelago, Eritrea; upon reef substrate, under slab; 6-8 m; dived; 1989. Size: 48.8 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
