| Note | An outstanding specimen, of exemplary QUALITY and BEAUTY for this usually very rough, deep-water, trawled species, incorporating a completely NATURAL apertural lip, in an excellent state of preservation – very important for the connoisseur. Rich earth colours. Superior pattern to that seen in the majority of examples. Markedly slender and elongate form. Rare locality. Not freshly collected for decades, and now obtainable only from choice old collections. Data: Gulf of Mexico, off Horn Island, Mississippi-Alabama Barrier Islands, Mississippi, USA; upon sand/mud/detritus substrate; 200-300 m; trawled; 1989. Size: 116.3 mm. Grading: Fine+++.
