NoteAn EXCEPTIONAL LIVE-COLLECTED specimen – the LAST and FINEST of the JES Collection – of this diminutive, endemic Madagascan species. Usually offered dead-collected, but in the current specimen we may observe the living colour – in this case, a rare dusky APRICOT-PINK, with lavender glassy, mammillate protoconch. High apertural gloss. Definitely for the Volutidae specialist seeking a first-rate live-collected example of this elusive species. Data: Off Toliara, Atsimo-Andrefana, Madagascar; upon sand/rubble substrate; 15-20 m; dived; 1994. Size: 31.8 mm. Grading: Fine+++ (minor loss to anterior of apertural lip, and minute inclusion). Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
