| Note | Rare and exquisite specimen of the largest member of the Strombidae family. With notable morphological form and symmetry, the overall patterning and nacre gloss of this particular shell are admirable. From the thick incredibly flared natural lip, the glossy peach/apricot hued aperture and porcelain glazed pastel peach ventral surface, the shell would be a classic addition to any collection. The specimen displays exceptional patterning on the high flawless spire, large classic nodules on the shoulder and typical growth rings on the spreading on the broad dorsal lip. The shell is solid and heavy as a rock at 2.195 kilograms. The shell was collected by Scuba diver on sand at 30-35 meters in the northwestern section off Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil in 2017. The shell comes with the original operculum. The specimen shows some self repaired and glazed chip areas on the anterior lip, typical growth lines and an exceptionally intact apex and spire. NOTE: Due to regulation challenges with Chinese Customs (GACC), NO shipping of this particular specimen to CHINA, No exceptions.. Grade: F++/F+++. |
