Siphonaria lessonii - Very Nice, Selected , Blainville, 1827
Size
13 and 12.8 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
Two nice specimens of Siphonaria lessonii. This is a pulmonate marine limpet which lives in the upper part of the intertidal zone. It appears that it has some variation in their shells or that they represent a few cryptic species. The lot consists of two very nice specimens collected fresh dead among algae rubble in a beach in northern Chile. A low price for an interesting species from the SE Pacific Ocean.
