| Note | Exquisite, lovely and richly nacred specimen and a deluxe version of this highly collectable species. Diffuse, clearly demarcated, eye-catching dorsal blotching, wide dorsal line, light apricot/beige hued margins with large lateral wall spots hallmark this classic rostrated specimen. The shell shows modest tuberculation of the rounded beige/brown pigmented margins with traces of an light diffuse blue halo. A showoff specimen by all measures. An outstanding specimen with impressive gloss and shades of russet/chocolate brown caressing the flawless base. The shell has perfect margins, extremities and base with a moderate weight/size ratio (53.9 grams). Collected by Scuba diver on an orange "sow's ear" sponge sitting on a low profile patch reef off the Gnaraloo, Western Australia at 38-42 meters in 5/2006. The shell has a buried, nacred and primary base pigmented sand grain on the columellar posterior ramp. EX: Marty Beals. Grade: GEM minus. |
