Over the years we have put considerable effort into looking for armeniaca on our south coast. In the area between Walpole and Israelite Bay we have found a form of armeniaca that does not fit with andreyi, clarksoni or type armeniaca from the Great Australian Bight. They have rich peach bases, speckled dorsa and dark siphon trim. We have taking the liberty of referring to them as "verawestralis" or true westralica in Latin. This shell was collected from 96 metres of water south of Walpole during October 2025. It is a crabbed shell with some dorsal nacre craze and a octopus drill hole in its base. We have collected less than twenty specimens in the past 15 years and most have been dead collected. Rare area form.
