| Note | LOTTIIDAE - Lottia mesoleuca (Menke, 1851). GIANT RARE BEAUTY WITH SPECIAL YELLOW-GREEN PISTACHIO COLORS AND SPOTTED PATTERN!! Giant rare size with 29.3mm The shell shows excellent seldom seen Yellowish ventral color form with green pistachio ring and king of bluish near the spotted lip side. Stellar large dark brown unique spot in the middle part of the ventral side. Rare to get so green colors and really beautiful even there is usual erosion on top. A crazy combination of cloudy eroded dorsal mixed colors between dark green, gray and light green, the lip presents a crazy large multiple white banded axial spots with unique designs. F+++-F++. This is the highest selected and seldom seen conditions you can get for the species with extremely strong and vivid green-yellowis colors. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. Playa Careyeros, Nayarit, Mexico. August 2025.
