Fissurella cumingi - Very Nice, Selected , Reeve, 1849
Size
74.8 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One nice live-taken specimen of Fissurella cumingi, a nice species of Fissurellidae similar to F. maxima but with a radial pattern often crossed by concentric patterns, giving a tartan pattern. The shell is also thinner, more concave, and more sharper in the border. This specimen is preserved in its natural condition, lightly cleaned, and it is in very good condition for the species, with some tiny nicks in the border, and a lightly cleaned dorsum with red algae covering, as can be seen in the images. You can clean it to perfection with some patience and time. A very low initial price for an interesting and nice limpet species.
