| Note | Small specimen of aurantium dived in 10-15 mt off Halmahera island (Indonesia), south of the Philippine's island of Mindanao. Very unusual location for the species. The shell has thin growth lines on the columellar side of the dorsum visible in the image, and a small scar nearby the posterior end: these flaws do not detract from the overall beauty of this miniature aurantium. Shadows and white marks are reflections from the camera. More images available. |
