| Note | Once in a lifetime! I think my starting price is very cheap and reasonable for such an ultra-rare specimen. This species is relatively common in Mexico, but perhaps 99% of specimens in the open sea are very ugly with usual damage, erosion, broken spines, worm holes and impossible to clean without broken them. I have been collecting this species for almost two decades, but I have never seen one as black as this one. I can almost guarantee that it is the only specimen this black ever found in the history of this species. I have offered some dark-colored specimens in the past, but this one is the king of darkness. Searching in the ecosystem of Muricanthus ambiguus, where they hide among rocks and caves, I found this specimen that led me to believe it was one of them and not a Hexaplex princeps. It wasn't until I got home that I realized this specimen was something unique and extraordinary. The real Hexaplex princeps with its black coloration. The evolution and adaptation are very clear. This specimen, living in muddy and dark areas alongside a population of M. ambiguus, may have adapted to create this unique Jewel. In the other hand apart of the dark coloration this beauty presents a very long branched spines some of them with an elegant curvature, the shoulder-spire spines are very curved, branched and elongated, the frontal spire spines presents a white-brown-reddish colors the same for the end of the varices between dark brownish and the rest of the shell is just black and shiny. Most of the spines are really black except for the ones in the spire. Do not miss this unique opportunity to get the real Black color form Hexaplex princeps ever found.
This is the rarest coloration found in this species, and with this exaggerated black color, it is truly unique.
Without a doubt this masterpiece is a treasure for anyone who wins it. Carefully handpicked with years of experience and cleaned preserving its natural parts. It is much more impressive in your hands because of the details that you can't see in the photos. For MURICIDAE lovers of aesthetics and advancer collectors and for all the ones they like ultra unique specimens for a special collection or study-comparation. This Shell could even be for a book.. Black Masterpiece ultra rarity. Some tiny imperfections not detracting the beauty Gem minus. Found attached under a cave stone about 5m-7m deep. Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexico. November 2025. Value for this ULTRA RARE Black color form, once in a lifetime, first time ever offered: 400-600 euros and even much more. Good luck and Happy shelling!!! MEXICO PACIFIC |
