| Note | Hyper-mature, hyper-calloused, and solid heavy beauty from the northern Red Sea population. The pyriform shell shows a strong size/weight ratio and thick, noteworthy massive callousing of both margins (48.8 grams). Lovely dark primary color with impressive picture perfect white spotting array with perfect extremities. Superb wide, depressed specimen with a wonderful glossy nacre dorsally and ventrally. Minor tuberculation of the margins, significant rostration, and perfect base. Taken by Scuba diver on a night dive at 25-30 meters moving across the top of a reef off Safaga, Egypt in 2018. There exists two glazed micro-blisters on the anterior labral body/margin intersection (fold) toward the extremity. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
