| Note | Lovely smaller marginata with modest rostration, a relatively inflated body and excellent spotting/maculae painted on a primary ivory pigmented dorsum. The specimen shows an excellent nacre gloss, flawless extremities with notable flaring and tuberculation of the margins. The specimen excellent rostration, a china-white base and superb marginal spotting. The shell was taken by the late/great Scuba diver Peter Clarkson at 41 meters on a purple Geodia sp. sponge at the foot of a limestone reef southwest of Canal Rocks, Capes Coast, Western Australia in 1/2003. Original data slip from Peter included. The specimen was featured and illustrated in Australia's Spectacular Cowries textbook on Plate 200, figure g. The specimen displays one very small micro-chip on the anterior labral tip. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
