| Note | Exceptional and richly nacred deep water, hard to find unusual version of this collectable species. Diffuse clearly demarcated dorsal chocolate/sienna brown blotching, light apricot/peach hued margins with modest and "classy" lateral wall spotting. The modestly rostrated shell is exemplified by a hallmark wide and distinctive/incredible dorsal line. The shell shows modest/moderate tuberculation of the rounded margins and perfect extremities. An outstanding specimen with an unusual wide and low grey/bluish halo complementing and fringing the dorsal blotch. Taken in deeper water west of Shark Bay, Western Australia at 50-100 meters by a Taiwanese trawler in the mid to late 70s. EX: Don Pisor. There are subtle glazed area of blemishes on the mid-dorsum/labral ramp not visible in the images. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
