LONG HAIR PERIO AND DARK ORANGE-BROWN BEAUTY!! HIPPONICIDAE - Pilosabia trigona (Gmelin, 1791). 17.4mm with periostracum hair. Uncommon species to get fresh live! Very hard species to get in any conditions and almost impossible to remove from stones. This are most hard attached to the buried stones and invisible for the eyes. Sometimes currents make them appear between. Very mysterious species from the Pacific. Formidable beauty with the most radiant glossy ventral side with unique brown dark orange in one side of the outer lip with undulated form, there are some black-brown spots between with elegant forms, the dorsal side shows a crazy long hair periostracum in the lip side with sensational elegance. Some natural usual erosion on top and a few pin holes not detracting the beauty for this seldom seen giant size. F++-F+++. For advancer collectors seldom seen so big. Found attached on top of buried stones about 6m deep , Isla Toriz, Melaque, Jalisco, Mexico. September 2025. Value for this giant size and incredible remarkable periostracum hair: 16-18 euros.
