| Note | Very interesting shell. Obtained in 2009 as Schilderia achatidea longiqua, a small form of achatidea living in the southernmost extreme of the species range, this shell based on images and morphometric parameters looks superimposable to the recently described new species Schilderina ichnusa (Nappo and Swinnen, Bulletin of the National Museum of Natural History Malta, 2025(Aug), 2(1): 47-53) from the northernmost extreme of the known achatidea range. Comparing this shell to the ichnusa specimen offered last month in this auction site the astonishing similarity appears evident. Lenght 24.8 mm, width 17.4 mm, height 14.2 mm, labral teeth fine and numerous, columellar teeth noticeable near the siphonal canals, fossula denticulate, clear mantle line, black blotch on the callous-covered spire. Full gloss, no signs of predation. High quality. This is a special shell. |
