VERY RARE BLACK DENSE COLOR FORM WOOOOOOW!! A few in hundreds, from Cuastecomates, most of the specimens from there are really in bad conditions(erosion, broken and several drill holes), lucky to get this great one and at the same time black, very rare. The intensive black brownish color is darker from lip going to the dorsum and getting less dark in the ventral side, the spire is dramatic white with great spiny conditions. Heavy thick and massive seldom seen dark beauty. Some tiny natural imperfections here and there and light erosion as usual in the ventral-spire side not really harming this beauty. F+++-F++. This rarity's shows elaborate striking spines branching into exceptional beauty. With intact long spiny lip, siphon and apex this is a seldom seen conditions for the species. Magnificent high level stunning conditions. In my own experience, the real beauty of this specimens cannot really be appreciated in the photos. I tried my best but it is not enough, this pieces are really unique and impressive in your hands. Great to add in your collection and make comparations of this crazy variable species! This species is common in my region but maybe 99% of the specimens in the open sea shows strong erosion, drill holes and several scars, really ugly, in my own personal opinion and experience after diving for them for more than 15 years. Some rare populations hidden in bays or lagoons present good conditions but are rarely seen. Here is the best selection of this species with incredible spines, shapes and coloration. Found attached between big stones about 5m to 8m deep. Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. July 2025. Value for the most dark you will see, really rare color form for this amazing species: 50-55 euro.
