| Note | Exceptionally large aurata ROV collected from a white funnel sponge in 162 metres west of Coral Bay, Western Australia during April 2024. The shell has a lovely warm tan spotted dorsum, a pretty apricot base, high cream sides and sparse gold lateral spots and siphon trim. Graded Fine++/Fine+++ due to a growth interruption on the labial side and fold on columnar side of dorsum.
Aurata that are found in the northern portion of their habitat range off Coral Bay are invariably round bulbous shells. |
