| Note | One specimen of the rare and very endemic species Bostryx pumilio. This species was recently found again, and it lives in a small area in the coastal desert, although it has never been found alive. Most Bostryx species in Chile live at a narrow coastal band which receives fog from the sea (Camanchaca) and which has some vegetation; it is the only suitable habitat for these snails in the very arid northern part of the country. Bostryx species in Chile are restricted to small distributions, and some of them are prone to extinction. This is your opportunity to obtain a nice, rare, and very endemic landshell from northern Chile. |
