Note | Moderately heavy shell, convex base, calloused margins with a striking mottled pattern and deep shades of brown primary coloration that characterize this rare specimen. Associated with this wonderful dark pattern with hints of yellow/gold/antique white shades peaking through the dorsum. Beautifully thick, million dollar nacre gloss, with perfect base extremities and dark marginal walls along with the enviable size are admirable features. The shell exhibits perfect extremities, base and dorsum. Collected by the legendary Scuba diver Andrew Edinger in a heavily populated sponge garden off Delambre Island, off Sampson Point, Western Australia in 7/2015. The shell has a subnacre glazed white dimple on the posterior labral wall, not considered a flaw. Grade: GEM. |
