| Note | EXCEPTIONAL......A classic deep-water rarity celebrated for its unmistakeable convex and calloused base (nicely illustrated in second image). Not forgetting the decorative bronze/cream dorsal pattern over solid black. And a telltale orange blush to the ventrum. Glossy. Ultra-heavy. Ultra-mature. Specimens are prone to predator attacks but this in excellent shape with only a few tiny imperfections confined to the bronze/cream pattern, smoothed by the animal, and kindly camouflaged. Note that white reflections are inescapable due to glossiness. An opportunity to secure the much sought after classic raywalkeri. Grade: F++/Gem. Provenance: from my own collection. Taken in 2020 by ROV; 140m; off Augusta, Western Australia. |
