In the southern part of Hunan Province, China, there is a mountain stretching for hundreds of kilometers, with its several main peaks reaching nearly 2,000 meters in altitude. This mountain is called Shun Huang Mountain. According to legend, it is the place where the Chinese ancient benevolent and virtuous king named Shun died during his southern inspection tour. Due to the nurturing of the spiritual essence of heaven, earth, and mountains, a magical snail species emerged in the Shun Huang Mountain National Natural Resources Core Reserve where is above an altitude of 1,800 meters. They are like the graceful and ethereal goddesses, living in seclusion in the misty depths of this mountain, as the dragon appearing only at the beginning but disappearing at the end. In 2021, Dr. Qiu Lu, a member of the research team, accidentally discovered two specimens of a snail belonging to the same species during an exploration deep in Shun Huang Mountain. Finally, the mystery of this mountain nymph was unveiled. After expert research, they belong to a unique new genus and new species, and were named after the discoverer, Dr. Qiu Lu. Since the species was announced, countless species enthusiasts have gone deep to the type locality hoping to discover this species again, but ultimately without success. Since 2022, we, several species enthusiasts, have camped in the deep mountains of Shun Huang Mountain during the May holiday season, hopelessly searching for this dream-like nymph. After four years of persistence, we finally met the two nymphs and were able to see their beauty and grace, and touch their beautiful divine bodies. Currently, we have selected one of them for display here to share with friends from around the world.
