E.Sakhalin, 30 miles to S.E. from Bellingshausen Cape, 175-190m.depth, crab traps, sandy clay, gravel (22.07.1998) F++ RARE! Self collected. Probably very old shell. NICE thick, full adult lip and columella, The completely erased sculpture and the deformed (due to age?) Buccinum-like siphon have always hampered correct identification. But the calcite of the shell and (most importantly!) the operculum are undoubtedly Colus group-like! The species affiliation is in doubt. (L.hypolyspus? L.georgianus?) For specialists!
