Trochita trochiformis - rare interior color , (Born, 1778)
Size
42.4 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One nice specimen of Trochita trochiformis with a rare color in its interior. These snails live on rocks and on the shells of other snail species. They usually have very ugly shells, but the present specimen is rather nice, having a nice dorsum with some erosion and boring damage in the dorsum and having a nice septum (lip) with some damage (I have seen many specimens online with very broken lips). A low initial price for an interesting and hard to obtain specimen of Trochita trochiformis.
