Note | An exceptional specimen of this extreme deep-water species, with full periostracum, evenly applied throughout, resulting in a uniform colour. Very rare PERFECT delicate apertural lip, usually damaged during the trawling process. Retention of huge original operculum. A RARE shell at this level of quality, and a wondrous piece of natural sculpture. Data: Off Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan; upon sand/mud substrate; 400-500 m; trawled; 1977. Size: 97.1 mm.
