| Note | GIANT SPINY COLOSSAL!! Impressive Large size for the population and species in my area. Phenomenal and special undulated and elevated varices between the spines, intact lip, apex and long curved siphon. This specimen struggled and survived against a predator, as several spines appear to be damaged by a fish attack. The undamaged ones are very long and in exceptional condition, the varices are fully spiny with great dark brown color form. Thick fat massive unique lip. Several spines absent but still a great beauty with giant size. F++. This species can usually reach sizes over 70mm on the Central American side and has a wide distribution from Mexico to Peru. In Mexico there are large sizes as well but most populations are small but truly adult individuals, larges sizes are always broken, with several erosion and no spines. I have found congregations of up to 20 individuals mating and they are less than 30mm sometimes. But they are usually solitary. The real thing for this seldom seen species and so hard to clean with ultrasonic. For advancer collectors. F+++. Found in muddy bottom inside a dark caves about 6m deep.
