| Note | Attractive deep water large specimen with a distinctive balanced dorsal sparsely mottled pattern with accentuated strongly hued roundhouse cantaloupe/orange color band complementing the lateral walls and margins. The langfordi features a deep glossy nacre, perfect calloused extremities and flawless extremities. The shell displays moderate rostration and an modest inflation with an impressive size/weight ration (28.2 grams). Trawled in the East China Sea off Taiwan at 140-150 meters in 12/2018. The specimen displays a micro-sized drill hole attempt (black dot) in the anterior ramp, buried in the mottled pattern, and small white subnacre blister on the mid-columellar base as seen in the upper image. as see Grade: F++/F+++. |
