| Note | Appealing solid specimen of this desirable and famous Australian Zoila species. Marvelous wide, almost deltoid form with moderately flanging tuberculated margins and superior black/brown fused coloration. The shell exhibits a thick glossy nacre on a flawless dorsum with a beautifully reticulated window dorsally, buried in an exceptionally long golden brown dorsal window. The specimen astounding in hand, and an impressive weight to size ratio (30.0 grams). The shell has thick anterior and posterior flanges, perfect margins and extremities. A marvelous shell in overall visual appearance. Scuba diver collected on low profile sponge on patch reef off Point Quobba, Shark Bay, Western Australia at 32 meters in 8/2019. The shell features minor subtle blemishes on the base. Grade: GEM minus. |
