| Note | Impeccable, dark and richly nacred hard to find specimen and exquisite version of this highly collectable species. Diffuse clearly demarcated dorsal blotching, wide dorsal line, light apricot/beige hued margins with large lateral wall spots hallmark this classic and moderately and rostrated specimen. The shell shows modest tuberculation of the rounded brown pigmented margins with traces of an light blue halo that was once bright when freshly brought on deck. A still outstanding specimen by all measures. The shell has perfect margins, extremities, base, dorsum and a moderate weight/size ratio (38.0 grams). Taken by Taiwanese trawler in deeper water off the Northwest region, Western Australia at 120-150 meters in the late 70s. The shell is flawless. Grade: GEM. |
