| Note | Hyper-glossed and wonderfully gracefully patterned specimen with balanced morphology extracted from the southern Red Sea population. The exusta displays a strong radiating nacre, thick callousing, pitch black perfect extremities and base. The exusta shows four strong transverse dark brown bands dorsally, and thick longitudinal ramp way with strong coloration with a moderate weight/size ratio (20.7 grams). A splendid specimen, superb gloss, a collectors top notch prize cowrie. Plucked from under a reef ledge by Scuba diver on night dive at 15-20 meters off Sawabi Islands, Djibouti in 2014. The shell has a micro pinpoint inclusion on the columellar anterior ramp. Grade: GEM minus. |
