| Note | Exceptional hyper-glazed, strongly patterned and beautifully sculptured umbilia from the warmer water in the northern popilation. Amazing glossy nacre and a significant size/weight ratio (98.4 grams). The specimen displays a well-balanced dark chestnut brown spotting/maculae patterning complemented by thick calloused margins. Evident is impressive lateral wall spotting and modest posterior extremity rostration. The shell demonstrates excellent inflated anatomical form and a porcelain white base. The Umbila was trawled off Kepple Bay, Queensland, Australia at 100-120 meters in the 60's by Mrs. B. hseen in the upper image . Grade: F+++. |
