| Note | Large and rich lovely lavender hued conch from Brazil. The specimen has an unusual coloration, perfect protoconch and spire without any growth repair on the body whorl. There is roughness on the posterior lip and anterior to the stromboid notch close to the terminus. All spines are in good condition, the posterior spine extension intact and a porcelainized growth fold on the flared lip flange above the aperture as seen in the upper right image. Taken by Scuba diver at 24-25 meters on low profile reef off Alcobaca, Bahia State, Brazil in the 90s. Grade: F++/F+++. |
