| Note | Complete with an impressive spire, strong rotating spines on the shoulder and a bright porcelain aperture, this heavy specimen is an interesting addition to any collection (158.5). The shell is large, thick and shows strongly shouldered broadly convex teleconch whorls. The flesh toned body whorl demonstrates a beautiful array of of brownish axial banding of varying widths, adding to the overall impressive impact. The shell was collected from deeper water in the late 60's off Long Beach, California. The specimen displays some broken spine tips on the shoulder and spire with shallow chipping along the anterior siphon. Grade: F++. |
