| Note | Superb and extra large specimen with accentuated anatomical features. Fantastic distribution of dark stripes on the body whorl with fine classic finger extensions of the three fluted varices. This moderately heavy shell shows an intact spire, body whorl, siphonal canal and aperture lip. Collected by Scuba diver off breakwater boulders at 12-15 meters at Los Angeles Harbor breakwater, California in the 90s. Many small nicks on some of the terminal varices, protoconch erosion, mini erosion holes on two varices and one notable hole (air conditioning) through the anterior dorsal varix as seen in the lower right images.. Grade: F++/F+++. |
