| Note | Very heavy pink venusta ROV collected from 188 metres of water west southwest of Mandurah during February 2025. Classic unspotted bakeri with prominent siphons and a very narrow aperture.Unfortunately the shell been mauled by a champagne crab resulting in a broken anterior siphon and some dorsal nacre damage. These issues have been healed by a generous coat of additional nacre making the issues natural defects.
Obviously a damaged shell but still good value as a gem would be priced at 4,000 euro or more. It weighs 67 grams and feels very heavy when handled. Fine. |
