| Note | Beautifully scripted pattern complements this uncommon cone from the east coast of the Honduras. The specimen shows excellent nacre gloss on the body whorl, notable axial whorl cording, and strong chocolate hued patterning. The specimen was collected on sand at night near an eel grass garden at 14-15 meters by the late/great Scuba diver Paul Kanner. The shell was taken off Trujillo Bay, Honduras in 6/2011. The shell shows some apex erosion, a small growth fold on the spire and dorsal body whorl with a swallow chip of the posterior lip at the anal notch. Grade: F++. |
