F+++. FLESH RED SPOON SHAPED SPINES. Look at the beauty of this highly unusual Spondylus. From rather deep water, as usual. Flesh-pinkish spines with orange body, an exceptional piece in general. This is a species which occasionally can be dived, but encountering it is very rare. A lovely and highly uncommon, even rare, piece with “curled” spines from quite deep.
Philippines. Surigao. Trawled. 80 m. 2016.
