| Note | F+++. POSSIBLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ASPERRIMUS. We here deal with a piece nobody could dive: too deep. It was, judging after the flat valve, attached to something rather flat, most plausibly a stone. The determination of this unusual piece with multiple YELLOW spines is a little problematic, but at the end we opt for Spondylus asperrimus. Both the size, the shape of the valves, the multiple spines and the flat lower valve correspond to that species. Only the color is highly unusual, but we all know that Spondylus can surprise us with amazing color palettes. The color is exceptional, the spines long and very beautiful. Highly exceptional item. Possibly UNIQUE, from an unusual locality. I have never seen this color in asperrimus before.
