| Note | GEM. RARE, RARER - THIS IS VERY RARE. This fine form of the coronata, known to live in the Cape St. Francis area, has been named in honor of the late Ludwig Gabrielli, the collection of who contributed to the realization of the cowry opus by Lorenz & Hubert. The teeth in the gabrielli are very pronounced, darker than the rest of the base and the shell is more slender - elongate - than typical coronata. The present piece fits perfectly well in shape and is almost identical in this field to the figures 4/5 on Plate 110 of LH. The pattern is exquisite and consists of four flecks in the shape of flames, intertwining. This gabrielli is from a vintage USA collection of quality.
