| Note | Classic heavy, massive and highly inflated Hawaiian tiger. The shell has typical huge leopard spotting painted over a deep multicolored primary color bed with a distinct and impressive mantle line. The shell exhibits perfect siphons, base and teeth and an impressive weight/size ratio (238 grs). The shell is a collectors piece with intense nacre gloss, in spite of imperfections. Captured by Scuba diver off North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii in 7/1974. Taken at 18-20 meters at night along an open coral ledge among sponges and anemones. The schilderiana has a few small subnacre blemishes and a small delamination area all on the anterior labral wall (arrow). Grade; F+++. |
