Item | # 0003339682 |
Family | Cypraeidae |
Name | Cribrarula exmouthensis rottnestensis - AMAZING SHAPE & CALLOUS , Lorenz, 2002 |
Size | 27.11 mm |
Locality | Salmon Bay, Rottnest Island, WA |
Note | Here we have a SUPER CALLOUSED example of the uncommon rottnestensis form. It is a SUPER ROUNDED shaped shell, with attractive small lucanae and a typical dark maroon dorsum. Its best feature is by far the HEAVILY CALLOUSED MARGINS which are separated from the dorsum by a soft blue halo. A really high end example of this species and you will not be disappointed. Gem- condition with maybe a couple of very minor blisters to the dorsum but hardly visible and grade is purely precautionary. Taken by diver on a red paddle sponge on the top of high profile limestone reef at 17m. South of Salmon Bay, Rottnest Island, W.A. March 2024 *White marks are from camera reflection.
