Item | # 0003326823 |
Family | Volutidae |
Name | Amoria molleri , Iredale 1936 |
Size | 83.4 mm |
Locality | Morton Island, QLD, Australia |
Note | Handsome specimen of a hard to find "in good condition" specimen. The molleri displays excellent gloss, perfect form, apex and spire. Super color integration of the body whorl with shades of buff/almond/hazelnut beige tones are classic for the species. The specimen was trawled at 60-80 meters off the north end of Morton Island, Queensland, Australia in the late 80's. The shell has a growth fold on the lateral columellar body whorl, blemish on the mid-dorsal and mild line mid-dorsal toward the anterior lip. Procured from older collection. NOTE: The shell was expertly shaved a long time ago in a small area on the posterior, once natural, lip. Grade: F++/F+++. |
