Note | Uncommon and prime rusty/orange representative of this common California cowrie. The shell possesses perfect extremities and base with impressive deep shades of dark and bright pumpkin orange in a pattern that beams from the dorsum. This is a superb and collectible spadicea that will shine in any collection. The shell shows perfect extremities and displays a highly glossed dorsal and ventral nacre. Collected with Scuba at 18-20 meters by diver Julian K. Lee on the Alpha wreck, December, 2017 off Palos Verdes, California. There are small subnacre blemishes on the mid-dorsum and posterior ramp, columellar side. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
