| Note | An amazing, extremely colourful specimen, truly difficult to convey in words. THE IMAGES SAY IT ALL. A recently acquired HIGH QUALITY specimen of jeaniana from the Cape Cuvier region. With wonderful cream/gold coloured margins and the uniform dorsal pattern making it such an attractive specimen. It is completed with an AMAZINGLY contrasting BLACK BASE, a feature you do not expect when you view the dorsum and pale margins, a stunning contrast between the dorsum and base. This specimen is also quite PETITE at 60mm, extremely mature with great weight for its size. Taken in deeper water at 40M, much deeper than the inshore population, perhaps the reason for its smaller size. Graded GEM- with the tiniest snowflake dimple on the base, if you call this a fault? Diver taken in 40M on solid ridge dark grey sponge on shale/sand substrate, Cape Cuvier, N.W. Australia. ALL THE WHITE REFLECTIONS AND DULL AREAS ARE FROM THE CAMERA LIGHTING. |
