Note
Dark flared shell with dark wine tan dorsal window. ROV collected from a orange finger sponge in 98 metres of water west of Dirk Hartog off Shark Bay in June 2023.
The shell anterior siphon was on old chip which the animal has regrown. This is indicated by the green arrows in the photos. Graded Fine ++ due to a couple of very small inclusions in its dorsal nacre and a couple of tiny nacre windows on its columnar base.
Good quality rosselli are increasingly difficult to obtain and in my view a price rise is justified.
