| Note | Spectacular mature specimen with an unusual and out of the ordinary posterior siphon wavy tip, rarely seen in Zolia cowries. The anatomical anomaly is not considered a defect. Highly inflated, superb nacre gloss, harmonious dorsal patterning and a light blue halo complement this exceptional shell. The specimen shows excellent nacre gloss, modest rostration and a high weight/size ratio (heavy) with a pristine cream base. Spotting on the lateral wall and margins are esthetically admirable. Gently coaxed into an ROV basket at 85 meters while munching on a sponge south of Hopetown, Western Australia in 2022. The specimen shows a minor growth wobble on the posterior ramp and a self-repaired area on the posterior tip. Grade: F++/F+++. |
