Note | Large specimen with a great pattern and rich glossy nacre. The pattern is a deep brown painted over a creme/antique white body. The shell is elongate, solid and heavy. The spire is relatively high, with a rounded and perfect apex. The lip is thick with no chips with a perfect siphonal notch and strong columellar plaits. The shell exhibits some growth folds on the dorsal body whorl and an area of micro pinholes on the mid-dorsal area toward the lip, as seen in the upper left image. Four other micro-pinholes identified around the body whorl and spire. Collected by diver, at 25-30 meters in sand off the Arafura Sea, Northern Territory, Australia. Grade: F++/F+++. |
