| Note | From a very old collection. No data but probably from Bass Strait. This is quite a richly coloured brown specimen. Not extremely dark but pretty decent. Unfortunately it has a fairly significant flake style chip to the labral side of the posterior end. But this isn't noticed from above, only if the shell is turned over. 2 very minor silt grains on the dorsum and another on the right margin. I'm lucky enough to have better than this in my own collection which is the only reason I'm letting this shell go. Hard to get this dark, in fact hardly any hesitata fished these days. |
