NoteFresh dead specimen collected from beach drift at Fanny Cove to the west of Esperance in May 2022. The shell has heavy burgundy spotting overlaying the dorsum like piperita occidentalis. I have difficulty at times distinguishing between comptoni and piperita and while I think the shell is a comptoni, it may be an occidentalis.
